The proposal brings forward the prestige of a Hampton by Hilton Hotel, who have a key strategic aim to develop in this type of location. The use is known to generate corporate and leisure business and employment. It will contain 212 rooms with other separate facilities (including a restaurant) which would together generate in excess of 45 full time jobs and up to 25 part time jobs.  It will also support the business sectors and result in increased expenditure in the local economy.

  • The hotel will have a synergy with the very nearby sports stadiums of Old Trafford (Football and cricket).
  • The hotel will be located in an area with very high public transport accessibility reducing the need for car travel
  • The building will be strongly sustainable using state of the art approaches to energy and water usage
  • As part of the scheme it will fund and implement environmental and highway improvements on Warwick Road and Chester Road, contributing to the vision of the Council’s ‘Refreshed Stretford Masterplan 2018’ – to provide a portion of a new high quality processional route along Warwick Road from the Tram Station in the south to Old Trafford Football Stadium in the north.
  • The Developer will create a construction training scheme and a hotel training scheme and/or apprenticeships
  • The Demolition of the existing low grade office building provides the following benefits:
    • The office windows overlooking the Hornby Road gardens are removed and no new hotel bedroom windows will overlook the residences
    • The height of the hotel near the houses has a more sympathetic scale with the housing
    • A secure service yard and good sight lines around the hotel with a 24 hour manned reception is likely to deter crime
